Mike Farris Interview from Bonnaroo 2009
Don’t you love it when you find a new musician to listen to? I found one at Bonnaroo
on the Which Stage. We were heading over Sunday morning to hear a performer that we were scheduled to interview later that day. We soon discovered there weren’t very many people there to hear Mike Farris and the Roseland Rhythm Revue. We walked right to the front of the stage, not even having to use our media passes. After all, Nine Inch Nails had performed until the wee hours of the morning and presumably most people were still sleeping.
We heard singing that sounded sort of like gospel, part jazz, some soul, and maybe just a touch of rock. It was amazing to hear that voice come from such an unexpected source. He was accompanied by guitars, piano, horns, and an unbelievable trio of backup singers. He puts everything he has into his performance, ending up soaking wet with sweat at the conclusion. He not only draws himself closer to God, but draws you along with him. And that’s when I knew I was going to be a fan of Mike Farris and the Roseland Rhythm Revue.

Did you like the signs at Bonnaroo?
Some of the signs for the stages at Bonnaroo were made by a local man named Patrick Harner. He did an incredible job of craftsmanship on the signs. I personally overheard many people commenting about how great the signs looked.
Good news, word is Patrick will also be making them next year for Bonnaroo!

Coheed and Cambria Rock Bonnaroo 2009
If you have not heard of these guys you should check them out. Amazing Show!
Coheed and Cambria, the progressive rock outfit who are recording their fifth album, are also spreading their wings by playing to new audiences in 2009. Creating more visibility in the metal world, as well as the jam and indie circles more than ever. Earlier this year, the band supported the heavy metal juggernaut, Slipknot, and now, mix that with varied festivals such as Mountain Jam, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and Austin City Limits. It’s hard to find a current band that can stretch those kind of boundaries further.
